On June 5th, 2010

The "Future" of the YHS Science Research Program
is very, very bright as the 26 Sophomores (1st year students)
presented their upcoming research projects
at the
White Plains Invitational Science Fair
Approximately 200, 1st year research students from 13 schools participated.

Awards were given to the top 3 in each category.
To be equitable, the larger categories,
(Med./Health, BioChem, Behavior)
were divided up so that there were no more than 12 people in any category.

 

These are the YHS results:

 

Amanda Buonagurio won 1st place in the Behavior category
and was the 2nd highest scoring project in the entire fair !!

 

 

Laura Anderson won 1st place in her Medicine/Health category

 

 

Priya Mohindra won 1st place in her Medicine/Health category

 

 

Luke Nolan won 1st place in the Astronomy category

 

 

Andre' Nakkab won 1st place in the Microbiology category

 

 

Tony Wang won 1st place in his Biology category

 

 

Francesca Giordano won 1st place in the Botany category

 

 

Miwa Wenzel won 1st place in her Environmental category

 

 

Stephen Anderson won 1st place in the Biochemisty category

 

 

Nisha Rath won 2nd place in her Medicine/Health category

 

 

 

Juliana Vigorito won 2nd place in the Biochemistry category

 

 

 

Alexei Naumann won 2nd place in the Biochemistry category

 

John Wolff won 2nd place in his Medicine/Health category

 

 

Kathleen Mavrommatis won 2nd place in her Behavioral category

 

 

Rachel Lee won 3rd place in her Medicine/Health category

 

 

Julia Kelly won 3rd place in her Biology category

 

 

Amna Chaudry won 3rd place in the Biochemistry category
